Here is a small boring head that will be in constant demand in any shop.Note the wide base bearing suface that assuresmaximum rigidity even when the bar holder is in an off-set position.This wide base design is a recent criterion.Innovat-ion that increases bearing .A choice of 1/2double hole bar holder with a 1/2 cross hole is available. The unit has a 7/8-20 thre-aded back and also features a direct reading dial screw.Here is sturdy unit of extended boring range, capable of  peeling off heavy roughing cuts as well as a tool extreme

sensitivity.The use of a wide base bar holder, resting securely on the body, eliminates the need for a separate side plate. You will note this has now become an integral part of the boby. The direct reading adjusting screw is ground after hardening and  a plainly marked dial face in nonreflecting satin chrome allows easy reading and adjustments of .0005 or less. All Criterion Boring Heads have threaded backs for use with a variety of shanks . This model takes a 1-1/2”-18 threaded shank.This is a bigger boring head which can be put on a large  machine to process more as you want. The radius of boring hold can reach on about  400m/m.

Some models support radial and axial two-dimensional compensation to correct machining errors. Adapt to a variety of tool holder interfaces (such as BT, HSK, CAT, ISO), and support quick connection with machining centers and boring machines. It can be matched with boring bars with different specifications (standard type, extended type and vibration reduction type) to expand the depth-diameter ratio (maximum 10×D). The tool body is made of alloy steel (such as SCM435) or cemented carbide, and the hardness after heat treatment reaches HRC58-62, which has strong vibration resistance. Optimize the center of gravity design, dynamically balance the grade G2.5-G6.3, and adapt to high-speed cutting (≤10,000 RPM). Support the installation of indexable blades (such as CBN, PCD, coated blades) or welding tools, covering rough boring, fine boring, chamfering and other processes. Some models of cutter heads can rotate 360 degrees, realizing complex operations such as face turning and taper hole processing. Optional Through Coolant channel, high-pressure cooling to the tool tip, improving deep hole machining efficiency and tool life. The optimized design of chip removal groove reduces the risk of chip accumulation, especially suitable for viscous materials (such as aluminum and stainless steel).
