The BT40 hydraulic chuck operates based on a hydraulic clamping mechanism. The actuation screw B drives the actuation piston, which then forces the hydraulic fluid into the chamber system. This action causes the expansion sleeve to tightly grip the tool shank. The length adjustment screw E allows for quick and easy presetting of the tool position. The toolholder body has a groove designed to interact with the tool shank. During the clamping process, the tool shank is first centered, and then the expansion sleeve expands to ensure a secure hold. The high clamping pressure displaces any oil, grease, or lubricant residues into the groove, keeping the contact surfaces dry and reducing tool wear. The hydraulic fluid in the chamber system also provides a damping effect, enhancing the stability of the clamped tool during machining operations.

How to Use Hydraulic Chuck

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of the hydraulic chuck, always clean the inner hole and outer diameter of the tool holder before use, removing any moisture or oil. Avoid tightening the chuck before inserting the tool, and loosen the pressure screw if the chuck has been unused for an extended period. Ensure the tool insertion length meets the specified minimum to prevent issues like deformation or slippage. Always tighten the pressure screw fully using a T-handle wrench, and ensure the tool dimensions are within the specified tolerance range. Only use tools with a fully round shank and avoid modifying the chuck or using non-original parts. For any issues, such as oil leakage or low pressure, contact the seller for assistance instead of attempting repairs.
